Our recently completed extension sits mid-terrace in the incredibly sensitive Calabria Conservation area, Highbury, North London. Notting Hill apartment re-development
Notting Hill apartment renovation
XAMI re-imagined this two bedroom flat in the heart of Notting Hill. We submitted several proposals for improvement to our client from which they chose to greatly increase the specification of the internal fixtures and increasing the available living space. XAMI transformed the apartment from a tired-looking flat into a spacious apartment with luxurious specifications and bespoke joinery features.

Maida Vale mansion duplex conversion
The brief for this renovation was to convert a standard 2-storey apartment in one of the grand mansions in Maida Vale into a modern duplex. Careful use of materials and structural elements brought about a transformation into a modern-feeling series of living spaces benefitting from light flooding through better configured apertures. Replacement of heavy fixtures with stylish minimalist design added to the feeling of airiness and comfort of the final outcome.
Notting Hill mews house total refurbishment, basement with gym and cinema
Notting Hill Mews Living

Nestled in the heart of Notting Hill, this mews residence required a total renovation and addition of a basement under the whole house. XAMI remodelled every part of the building with the addition of spaces for a gym and private cinema, to meet the needs of every family member. We designed bespoke joinery, contributing to an exceptionally comfortable residence that fits in with its mews setting.

Islington pied à terre

We converted a small one-bedroom apartment in a conservation area of Islington into a comfortable residence that feels much roomier than its physical dimensions suggest. Using careful structural alterations, XAMI created a combined kitchen-living space and converted an old bathroom into a spacious walk-in shower room. Additional storage space was created making use of bespoke joinery. The resulting apartment is airy and deceptively spacious.
Large extension to family home in Harrow
Large extension to family home in Harrow
Large extension in Harrow
We created a living/dining space for a large family house built on a challenging site with a major slope towards the garden. We made use of the topography of the site to create a large, yet intimate, area over two levels combined into a common motif through the use of bespoke joinery designed to harmonize the internal environment and provide a comfortable space. This illustrates the integrated approach to architecture and interior design that XAMI specializes in.
Ealing House extension
Our brief was to create a large, modern extension to accommodate a high-specification kitchen and lounge-dining area for a young and growing family. Careful use of materials and design resulted in spaces that are both light and functional, providing our clients with all the amenities they were seeking to cater for the requirements of the whole family. Careful planning enabled the build to be performed in two phases to ensure minimal disruption to the routines of the family.
Nigerian-style hospitality in Tottenham

Chuku's Restaurants appointed XAMI to create an aesthetic that pays homage to the Nigerian heritage for their latest venue, whilst being forward-looking. The colour pallet throughout the interior provides cues to the ancestral vernacular architecture of Nigeria, which was mainly constructed from adobe, a raw earth material which has vibrant rose tones. The walls are hung with original bespoke prints designed by XAMI, and highlight the Nigerian heritage of the restaurant.

Maida Vale Period Apartment renovation

Our clients wanted to preserve the chic ambience of this apartment within a mansion block in an area of Maida Vale with a long history of bohemian living. The sensitive design options XAMI presented to the clients ensured that the clients fully met their desire to retain the character of this great building. The outcome that was achieved is both elegant and timeless, providing a comfortable and relaxing ambience that can continue to be enjoyed within a highly desirable context.
